Maturity

One can measure the time of their life through many ways like age, weather you’re a teen or an adult. One way it could be done, through the four seasons. Winter, spring, summer, and fall, represent different phases of life. I’m at the point of early summer. During early summer more responsibilities are obtained. Yet, still a little immature, doing stupid things because you’re older and no one says no. Sometimes your not sure where you’re at and don’t know what to do.

Most teenagers prefer to have fun over seriousness. We do things that we shouldn’t and don’t really listen to others. A story called “Marigolds” has a character named Lizabeth; she follows her brother and friends to mess with an old woman. They shouldn’t be doing this, but that’s how they get their laughs. When you’re a teenager your main focus is trying to have fun. Friends of mine make the dumbest, funniest videos. Sitting in post office box being pushed on a skateboard. Tying someone to a pole and leaving him or her there for 15 minutes, just a few of the funny things they’ve done. Not the smartest things to do but we just try to have fun.

Fun and games go quick as you get older. Responsibilities play a big part in crossing over to early summer. High school students have many things to worry about. Scholarships, loans, college, SATS, and grades make up most of those worries. Our ecnomy is doing bad. No one can really afford to pay for college out of their or their parent’s pockets. All that weight put on the young shoulders of a teenager the result of early summer.

Sometimes I’m stuck in the middle. My schoolwork suffers at times because of this. Good grades are really important to me, but sometimes I don’t feel like doing the work I just want to have fun. Moments like these often occur during my computers class. Computers class is that one class where you can either do your work or not, depending if you mind getting demerits or not. Honestly, the working all day is boring. Do I do the childish thing and not finish my work, or be mature or get over it.

Understanding where you’re exactly at in life takes time. By saying I’m in early summer is my opinion. More responsibilities in your life to me does mean your maturing. Goofing off at times puts me in early summer because mature people take everything seriously. Some day’s people are just stuck in the middle, not knowing which way to go. Do you know where you are?
