I Make

We sat in a room real quiet,
No one knew what to say,
Some one spoke up and asked our names
And important thing we do.
Nothing came to mind at the time,
I thought about that question all day,
“What do I do that is important?”

I make people smile when ties are hard,
I can help them realize who they are,
I make choices and changes that shape me,
I open doors for friends in need,
I make people pride with all my accomplishments,
I make my voice heard in a sea of people,
I listen to make important improvements,
These things are important to me,
They help me be me.
